3 lbs. large onions, peeled & thinly sliced
1/2 c. butter, melted
6-8 slices French bread, cubed
4-5 c. chicken broth
Place sliced onions in crock pot; pour in butter and mix to coat onions thoroughly.
Stir in cubed bread. Add chicken broth to cover; stir well.
Cover and cook on low for 10 - 18 hours or on high for 4 - 5 hours, stirring occasionally. Stir well during last hour.
